And this is for the nice ones among you...
A bit of... luminous levity!
What if Shelley (Percy, mind you - not Mary!) were a fan of...
The West Wing!!!
PERCY BYSSHE SHELLEY
Ode to the West Win(g)
O White West Wing, thou breath of Abraham's being,
Thou, from whose unseen presence the bushes fled
Are driven, like ghosts from an impostor fleeing,
Yellow, and black, and pale, and hectic red,
Pestilence-stricken multitudes shall soon see red!: O thou,
Who chariotest to their dark wintry yet soiled bed
The winged seeds, where they lie - boldly so, cold and low,
Each like a corpse within its grave, lest it is Cheney, unalive until
Thine azure sister of the Spring shall blow
(Hmm - poetic pause here - is this another Lewinsky-to-be here...?!?) ;)
Her condolences o'er the dreaming earth, and fill
Driving sweet buds like flocks to feed in air
With living hues and odours plain, pestiferous and hill:
Wild spirit, which art moving everywhere; (yeah - everywhere that OIL can be found!)
Destroyer and Preserver; hear, oh, hear!
(The Americans - to a T!)
Hurray hurray - even in poetry can we hear, faint though they may be,
some unmistakeable chants for the American way! Hurray... :/
Blessings!
