9/11... 7/ 7... what might be the next combination... and where

Quite obviously, terrorism knows how to bide its time, get around "ever-vigilance"... and strike where it might justify a campaign against it to linger on and on and on and on... The London bombings come exactly at a time and in a place where they will spur on the population to support their political leaders' ill-advised decisions - shades of New York, the eleventh day of September, 2001. Bush needed a really good (almost made a "goof" typo - how appropriate when Bush is mentioned) and solid reason to go into the Middle-East to secure all that precious oil - and he got it when the terrorists somehow struck a major coup where they had always wanted to.
Likewise now, Blair is justified in continuing to send troops - hey, the mean bad guys struck home, somehow getting past all the increased security measures... multiple times too. One or two bombs - but more than that? What were the odds of so many security aides falling asleep/overlooking minute but very suspicious details in such near-perfect symmetry and synchronism...?
Blair & Bush - or, as I call them, one half of the political group - the Beagles! They need a Ringo... and a Paul too. Tony is a sorry replacement for John; and of course this George is no match for the real George - My Sweet Lord, no - no match at all! B & B, thus, the bumbling fool and the braggart (for they are not the brave & the bold - surely not!) are now *truly* united in tragedy - and in a common crusade mentality that will surely kill millions now... Tis a saga that progresses at a turtle's pace, verily - however, with such a campaign, waging war on the abstract as the war on Terror is, it truly could only be this way!
Always interesting to see others share one's opinion - such as The Simon does.
Well - Simon says... and Luminous Luciano says - that this was all just too... ah... "convenient" - alas. The loss of life is very real - and that is beyond tragic. Such sadness is impossible to describe by those who live through it, when it is one of their own that perishes so senselessly and so suddenly - it cannot be aptly described by one who has not even known such pain - and merely tries to imagine how it must devastate the mind, the spirit and the soul of the surviving party. The loss and the tragedy are, thus, all too real - and it only makes it worse to know that it could have been prevented by those "in charge" - but they might have chosen not to do so.

when reality mirrors fiction... after it mirrored reality - lol

Okay now - we've established that life imitates art... but only in a sense. Life imitates BAD art - reality tv or, as Woody says, bad television in general; which includes sitcoms, daytime soaps, primetime dramas and made-for-tv movies... However, when art is the middle component of this "sort-of equation" here, it can be pretty good stuff - as the case with this Tom Hanks movie (thank God, not one of his Oscar-winning performances... and definitely not a made-for-tv movie either! Not an Oscar-winner, even though he was better in it than he was in either Forrest Gump and Fhiladelphia... *lol*, I mean, Philadelphia of course...! ;) And even though 2004's The Terminal was a hit and was based on an uplifting true-life story of perseverence and courage... hmpf... the Academy, you know... however, the trial of the Academy can wait - at least until Oscar nomination season of course! *lol*
What is so fascinating with The Terminal is that it was inspired by a real-life case that, of course, preceded it - but then, after the film, another similar case has surfaced (and, quite frankly, this is the way of the future; many more should follow the example of "Terminal Tom Hanks" - as opposed to, say "Big Tom Hanks" or "Bachelor Party Tom Hanks"... or, since we started this out by talking about the tube, "Bosom Buddies Tom Hanks" - *LOL*). Living in an airport terminal is really not all that bad, compared to other alternatives - and it can be a long-term solution even!
Dressing up as a "bosom buddy", now THAT is just odd... *LOL*

thursday thunder; comets and ill omens

A comet headed for Earth... and NASA scientists come to the rescue by dispatching a space probe to slam into it...? Is this the plot to "Armageddon II: Icy Comet Cometh"...?!? *lol*
Not quite! As usual, reality falls considerably short of fiction in THIS department;
the comets that are spotted coming our way from many, many miles away are simply NOT headed for a collision with Earth at all - they're just passing through, that's all!
When an actual asteroid or comet is REALLY headed for us - the one that has our name written on it; forewards and backwards - trust me; NASA scientists will not have a clue until it is TOO LATE TO DO ANYTHING ABOUT IT!!!
They can cheer the probe-comet "fireworks display" that brightened deep space for a fleeting moment on the fourth of July all they want now... When it will really count, the NASA duds will fumble the meteor...*LOL*
Mark my luminous words; another luminous prediction that shall come to pass! Surely...

wednesday weirdness version 8.0

This week, on wednesday weirdness:
apparently, some aristocrats are not satisfied with merely having it FAR BETTER and FAR EASIER than the homeless - they need to stick to the homeless as well...! Hmm... reminds me (the film aficionado in me stirs...) of that lamentable scene in the no-less lamentable Christian Bale film, "American Psycho" (was it the prequel to Batman Begins? The prequel... to the prequel! How... novel! Think about it... it makes sense too! Bale has so little range, it is more than likely that he prepared to play Bruce Wayne and actually plays Bruce Wayne just like he played the actual American Psycho that the "Dark Knight Detective" is - lest American Megalomaniacal Control Freak is more accurate...? But I digress, evidently...). In A.P. there was a sickening scene where Bale's character decides to kill someone else other than the usual ho - and sends to oblivion a homeless man he was actually tending a ten dollar bill to or something... At least, in this real-life incident reported recently, it was a senator merely dousing a homeless man with what the latter most likely craved - good wine, thus wasted... A politician would not ruin his career thus - but this one actually did!
In other "news"...
Sentry dogs lend a... paw in India - A stray dog lends much more... in Utah - Ecuadorian lawmakers smash up things... and pay the price for it - and art imitates reality tv...?!? Makes me think of that Woody Allen quote, seen recently right here, right end of thy screen, on the luminous blog...! Life doesn't imitate art - it only imitates bad television (I paraphrase)...! So true... the evidence lies ahead - in the comments section!
I am so glad I added those instant daily quotes, by the way - the Daily OM is cool too! ;) Check it out!

two *murderers* for *this* tuesday...

Why? Because... I may be in a killing mood myself here... Yes, I just very well might be... Beware the wrath of the righteous! (Not the self-righteous... not the shaheed -aka a muslim martyr- or the mullah... and not any other type of grandiloquent justifier... nope... ok?).
Not to say that the killer sometimes known as "the supergrass killer" and, other times known as "Captain Cash" - or his partner in crime - are in any way, shape or form to be perceived as "righteous" - for THEY ARE CLEARLY NOT... AT ALL. Read the lurid details of what led to their lifetime convictions recently and you'll see why... it is not even debatable, really...
I merely hope that GOD Will find me, myself and I to be a tiny bit worthy of the label of "righteous" - come the Day of Reckoning. As for Captain Cash & Pennyworth here - they will most likely have the Book thrown at them then - as they just got the book thrown at them now! And... rightly so!

Verses of the Week! (or entire Month?!?)

Seldom does this luminous blogger apologize - but now is the time! On this Fourth of July -for some reason- I realize that I have neglected to put in a daily verse... to make up for that now, how about an entire psalm, folks? *lol* One that has been both recommended as demanded by some of the luminous blog faithful... yes!

Psalm 68
1 May God arise, may his enemies be scattered;
may his foes flee before him.
2 As smoke is blown away by the wind,
may you blow them away;
as wax melts before the fire,
may the wicked perish before God.

3 But may the righteous be glad
and rejoice before God;
may they be happy and joyful.

4 Sing to God, sing praise to his name,
extol him who rides on the clouds [a]—
his name is the LORD—
and rejoice before him.

5 A father to the fatherless, a defender of widows,
is God in his holy dwelling.

6 God sets the lonely in families, [b]
he leads forth the prisoners with singing;
but the rebellious live in a sun-scorched land.

7 When you went out before your people, O God,
when you marched through the wasteland,
Selah

8 the earth shook,
the heavens poured down rain,
before God, the One of Sinai,
before God, the God of Israel.

9 You gave abundant showers, O God;
you refreshed your weary inheritance.

10 Your people settled in it,
and from your bounty, O God, you provided for the poor.

11 The Lord announced the word,
and great was the company of those who proclaimed it:

12 "Kings and armies flee in haste;
in the camps men divide the plunder.

13 Even while you sleep among the campfires, [c]
the wings of my dove are sheathed with silver,
its feathers with shining gold."

14 When the Almighty [d] scattered the kings in the land,
it was like snow fallen on Zalmon.

15 The mountains of Bashan are majestic mountains;
rugged are the mountains of Bashan.

16 Why gaze in envy, O rugged mountains,
at the mountain where God chooses to reign,
where the LORD himself will dwell forever?

17 The chariots of God are tens of thousands
and thousands of thousands;
the Lord has come from Sinai into his sanctuary.

18 When you ascended on high,
you led captives in your train;
you received gifts from men,
even from [e] the rebellious—
that you, [f] O LORD God, might dwell there.

19 Praise be to the Lord, to God our Savior,
who daily bears our burdens.
Selah

20 Our God is a God who saves;
from the Sovereign LORD comes escape from death.

21 Surely God will crush the heads of his enemies,
the hairy crowns of those who go on in their sins.

22 The Lord says, "I will bring them from Bashan;
I will bring them from the depths of the sea,

23 that you may plunge your feet in the blood of your foes,
while the tongues of your dogs have their share."

24 Your procession has come into view, O God,
the procession of my God and King into the sanctuary.

25 In front are the singers, after them the musicians;
with them are the maidens playing tambourines.

26 Praise God in the great congregation;
praise the LORD in the assembly of Israel.

27 There is the little tribe of Benjamin, leading them,
there the great throng of Judah's princes,
and there the princes of Zebulun and of Naphtali.

28 Summon your power, O God [g] ;
show us your strength, O God, as you have done before.

29 Because of your temple at Jerusalem
kings will bring you gifts.

30 Rebuke the beast among the reeds,
the herd of bulls among the calves of the nations.
Humbled, may it bring bars of silver.
Scatter the nations who delight in war.

31 Envoys will come from Egypt;
Cush [h] will submit herself to God.

32 Sing to God, O kingdoms of the earth,
sing praise to the Lord,
Selah

33 to him who rides the ancient skies above,
who thunders with mighty voice.

34 Proclaim the power of God,
whose majesty is over Israel,
whose power is in the skies.

35 You are awesome, O God, in your sanctuary;
the God of Israel gives power and strength to his people.
Praise be to God!

Footnotes:

Psalm 68:4 Or prepare the way for him who rides through the deserts
Psalm 68:6 Or the desolate in a homeland
Psalm 68:13 Or saddlebags
Psalm 68:14 Hebrew Shaddai
Psalm 68:18 Or gifts for men, / even
Psalm 68:18 Or they
Psalm 68:28 Many Hebrew manuscripts, Septuagint and Syriac; most Hebrew manuscripts Your God has summoned power for you
Psalm 68:31 That is, the upper Nile region

I guess that this psalm is appropriate for the US too!
They better hope that their enemies and foes will be scattered as well...!
God Willing... they will... eh? :)

I have a few SECONDS, it appears, of internet time... so I shall make the most of it... Since Thursday, I have been plagued with connectivity problems - and they expect me to PAY for this?!? Internet SERVICE Provider... eh? The question is... what service?!? And PROVIDER... Hope you don't provide for the family like this, DUDE! I will thus retaliate... My vengeance shall be terrible... oh yes... surely... bwah-ha-ha... ok now - any suggestions how to retaliate without landing in jail or something? *lol*
