White Calf Calling...

Maybe the only sound reason why the Buffalo Sabres are doing so well so far this year, earlier this year, back in September, a rare birth was reported...
The third of its kind.
A white buffalo was born - the odds of such a birth are in the order of one in a million, at the very least...
No, it is not a good omen for the Aryans but rather for the Redskins (and not those from Washington either...)
After all, the white calf will turn black, then all colors, thus effectively as allegorically representing all of humanity...
Aye, many tribes such as the Cheyenne, Sioux and other nomadic tribes of the Northern Plains view it as particularly sacred and a sign that "men need to take responsibility for their families and the future of the tribe" - what a shocking revelation...
It is interpreted as such anyhow since the calf that was born is male this time out...
Me, I find most interesting that the white calf was born to a farmer named Heider.
Makes little luminous me think of the Red Heifer - another animal whose birth is rife with significance and foreboding...
Is this a White Calf vs. Red Heifer debate that I am initiating here...?
Maybe!
Seems to me that what the heifer brought has to come to pass FIRST - way before what the buffalo brings as hope can ever come to pass (basically, a "potential to bring good fortune and peace" - especially if the calf were to be female...!)
Once we're at it, there are plenty more in the category of "fascinating beasts" that one could bring up - but let's leave the subject of full-fledged cryptozoology for another time - maybe another blog as well!
We should care more about the animals we already know very well and whose births are very common, before we dwelve too far into the rest...
Seals and sharks, whose slaughter is out of control...
Dogs and cats, whose mistreatment is equally out of control...
Look into ALL THAT first, folks...!
Make sure to brace yourselves for it first though...

Luminous MP3 Player...!!! (Uh... AWOL)

...
(Much better than voluminous M.P.s, if you know what I mean, Canada! But I digress...)

Once here - no longer here - were:
Madredeus, Sia, Claire Pelletier,
Loreena McKennitt, Cesaria Evora,
and many others...

I'll repost their songs, eventually -
but not via the lacklustre, underperforming
'MP3 players' provided by POQbum.com...

And here we have today absolutely ALL of your needs for RELAXATION, MEDITATION, ELEVATION, ILLUMINATION, INSPIRATION, CONCENTRATION and REFLECTION - all met in one astounding eclectic line-up of songs and artists that make trivial the boundaries of time itself... This line-up is a truly luminous assortment indeed - it covers over 40 years of music, of all genres almost - with ONE constant; it is music with a soul and with a whole lot of heart. It so happens that all the artists involved are ladies - save one - again, the exception that reaffirms the rule here!

Hence, 'Tis Verily A
Luminous Fair!

Eat your heart out, Lilith Fair!

This is one line-up that ol' Sarah Mac could only have DREAMED of though - regrouping world class talent in many different languages and styles; world music ("Musiques du Monde" does sound classier, somehow!) exotic latino beats, spiritual captivating rhythms, enticing melodies... This is the ultimate collection of the very best! As compiled by yours truly too...! ;)
This luminous compilation simply had to start with the luminous Hildegard Von Bingen - she's another one who could have made it easily to my All-Saints' Day list!
Only missing here are the late Ofra Haza (she would have been a fair representative for the defunct category, prevalent in this month of remembrance) and one or many bonafide, genuine *fadistas* - Mariza, Misia and São! :)
Save them for the next Luminous MP3 Player, you say?
Okay! ;)

Or rather... NOT!

UPDATE: since then (wow - LESS THAN A YEAR LATER!)
I have grown not only disillusioned with the service that I have received; I have grown irritated to the utmost degree by it! The 30 songs on the MP3 player were STUPENDOUS - and they did play continuously, for a short while... But then, a matter of bandwidth magically and mischieviously turned my 30 songs into 30 ten-second long highly-irritating messages that repeated, ad nauseam, the same thing: ''PLEASE CHANGE YOUR MP3 LINK WITH THE SNAPDRIVE MP3 PLAYER GENERATOR - GO TO SNAPDRIVE.NET FOR MORE DETAILS''
And not even a thank you or very basic ''SORRY FOR THE INCONVENIENCE'' with that, no (or he would have exceeded his ten seconds!)
The devilish voice not only lies (the ''MP3 PLAYER GENERATOR'' is POQbum.com - not snapdrive.net! Snapdrive is a LOUSY, INFURIATINGLY INCOMPETENT, CHEAP, COWARDLY AND UNDERHANDED STORAGE SERVICE - no more than THAT! And the moment that you make a SOUND USE of their resources, they ask you for cash or do not - but go behind your back and undo ALL THE PLAYLISTS THAT YOU'VE METICULOUSLY PUT TOGETHER - to replace them with those messages, ON TOP OF THAT! AND THE MORONS REALLY EXPECT PEOPLE TO DO AS THE MESSAGE SAYS AFTERWARDS!!! Pathetic - some people really should NEVER GO INTO ANY KIND OF BUSINESS AT ALL! They have NOS SKILLS for it... No savoir-faire... But I digress...)

I can tell you right here and now that I AM NEVER GOING TO SNAPDRIVE.NET ''FOR MORE DETAILS'' -thay can shove their details into their cybera$$es for all I care- AND I AM NOT ''CHANGING MP3 LINKS'' (which means really UPLOADING THEM ALL OVER AGAIN - NO WAY, PAL! You take too long on your damn system to handle that anyway...)

I AM NOT DOING ANY OF THESE THINGS - EVER AGAIN!

I need to relax now - the ''luminous MP3 player'' is dead!
Let's absorb the loss with some fine music - relax with Enya!
I need it!

To Care Or Not To Care - Is That A Question Or Is It A Dare? Bah - Does ANYONE Care... REALLY?!?

...
Seems like you won't be able to see this profile in "luminousoscope" anytime soon:

And they thought they could hide my own profile from ME...
They of little faith...
Who are "they"? Glad you asked...
"They" are the administrators of a certain website who have taken upon themselves to hide my profile from view and suspend indefinitely my access to said profile as, also, to most every feature on their site...
I am a host of two groups, on that website - one about spirituality, the other about writing. And I am a member of many, many more groups there...
I have been an upstanding citizen as a part of that "web community" - except on the few occasions when I have been pushed. I pushed back - hard. I silenced the entire rambling atheistic crowd in a group created around the questioning (and thinly-veiled disbelief in) the existence of God... I was slandered on there too - and cleared, since I was not ever guilty of a thing. And now, NOW, in the "worst year of my life", I am suspended indefinitely for having threatened the good health of a first-class JERK - himself a host of some groups... The disagreement is summed up succinctly here by the few, the proud, the truly luminous friends of little luminous me!
Aye, this time, I plead guilty as charged! And I do so with abundant pride and the satisfying knowledge that I was JUST in doing so - meting out appropriate punishment to he who deserved it all - and more!
Alas, the Care2 "support" team has sided with the jerk...
It does not help my case one bit that "the incident" was all deleted by the inane, vastly absent from the scene, host of the one group where all of it took place...
The exchanges were not tasteful, but it is when they got personal that, as I could say, la moutarde me monta au nez...!
I tried to forget about it - to no avail at all!
Seeing this unresolved and seeing the jerk unrepentent too made my blood boil one day - and I sent him a nice "introduction" message as they have them there (sigh) to re-introduce myself to the jerk with the failing code of ethics, sense of what's right and what isn't and plain failing memory!
In it, I stated my intention to see him go through a life of discomfort and illness - as a certain saintly man had gone through since 1993 - so that one could see how he would come out at the other end of such a journey...
I voiced my hope to see him expiate his jerkiness, so to speak...
I even "cared" enough to volunteer in order to make his journey HAPPEN, in concrete everyday life... I.O.W. I volunteered to render him invalid! That is not so bad - if I truly had hatred in my heart, it would have been far, far worse...
What this jerk of a man said was well worth such "promises" on my part...
(I will not repeat what he said though - how can I possibly "forget but never forgive" it if I start repeating it all? And even immortalizing it, on MY OWN SITE??? It would make no sense. Now, I know, some will say that forgiving and forgetting are the same thing - others will recall that I usually say to "forgive, but never forget! That way, you won't fall twice for the same cr@p!"
All I can say is that THIS is one of those exceptions that reaffirm the rule... If you get what I'm screaming! ;)
There is not much difference between what I did and a caring father reprimanding and castigating his wayward son...!
The Care2 Frogs though (frogs because their symbol and mascot of sorts is a frog, yes - as I often complained, if they had listened to me, they'd have a cute newt on there instead; but do they ever listen to me? Noooooooo... But I digress...) - well, they do not care much about the "tough love" approach and methods... (Although it is, indeed, anything but love going there...)
Hence, they sent me this message on All-Hallows' Eve... (How conveeeenient...)

Hello Luciano,

Thank you for contacting Care2 customer support. I've investigated the
reasons behind your suspension and we have decided to keep the
suspension in place at this time. Your behavior was a violation of our
Code of Conduct and was found to be abusive toward another member. We
cannot take these violations lightly.

Sincerely,
Care2 Support

(Ah, yes - my "contacting" them was really me sending them this link right here - no more, no less!)

Care2Connect...
The site that claims to have at heart all of the following causes...

The people there though spend more time with frivolous things than they do actually changing the world... One has to believe that a mere bunch of regular folks can truly change ANYTHING AT ALL though before one begins to see some results...
Me, I have greater faith in the changing power of God than in that of any blue-collar folkes... Mind you, man -in the generic sense- has proven apt and able to change things around him - FOR THE WORSE. But that is another story too...

Oh, I replied to the e-mail above, with this:

To: care2-support@earth.care2.com
Subject: RE: [care2.com #97990] C2S: Login Problems - Care2 Connect Access Problem

... (you) cannot take these violations lightly...

And I do not take disrespect towards the dead lightly either...

I do not regret for one second my violation of your Code...

In font this big too! I loved, also, that I sent them this reply on All Saints' Day - and am blogging about it today, on the officious Day of the Dead!
I cannot help but to wonder what the erstwhile, once and future care2 friends on my list - a.k.a. my mere "care2connections" that I barely knew for the most part - will think of all this...
Many of them are allegedly...

I see them not as the kind of queens that would give to the poor against their wicked kings' will (that is a direct reference to a saint, mind you, one that I should have included on my list yesterday! Oh well - I will have her take the sole spotlight in a future edition of "Saints & Angels ~ The TLB Prime Series" that's all!) but then again there are so very few genuine saints left on this Earth... My grievances are, as always, with soulless jerks and clumsy "mis-management" - not with any collection of would-be fairy tale merchandising princesses full of good intentions! ;)
They are surely going to be reading this too as Care2.com is still importing this very blog into their website, as a part of the "care2 shares" program...
Can you believe that...
My "sharebook" is still being updated, even if my profile is invisible and, for all intents and purposes, inexistent!
Such paradoxical behaviour could only emanate from a frog's brain indeed!
I could bet a 10 dollar bill that the next thing of mine to get disabled will be the blog feed... Boo-hoo.
True L.O.V.s and regular readers will always find a way to get on here or get the RSS feed through here!
Anybody else among the 284 that are, in reality, uncaring so-called "friends" can skip the process altogether from now on...
Anyone who thinks ill of me and sides with both the disrespectful jerk AND the mismanaging frogs can hardly be deemed a "buddy o'mine" now - can he/she?
Sorry, though - no one can delete their connections as long as one of the two profiles involved is on "stand-by" as mine indubitably is...!
Again - boo-hoo.

Saints & Angels: The TLB Prime Series

What better than to have an *incomplete* listing (very much so - not really due to the fact that there are too many to list, like the Kenner Star Wars action figures of the 1980s, but really because there's no perfection on this side of God's Creation...) an extremely incomplete list, hence, of all of our favorite saintly men and saintly women here, on TLB Prime - on this day, All-Saints' Day! An all-inclusive list, to the best of our capacity on such short notice, and an all-hyperlinked list too!
Enjoy clicking away...
First off, may St. Isidore of Seville, proposed patron saint of internet users, bless you all!
There is no saintlier man or child than Jesus, The Christ, Son of God though...
Onwards now with Mary, Holy Virgin Mother of Jesus, Gabriel The Archangel, Padre Cruz, Matilda of Saxony, Benedict II, João Jacinto Borges Pimentel, Acacius of Byzantium, John The Apostle, Michael The Archangel, Bernadette of Lourdes, Lucia of Fatima, John The Baptist, Simeon Stylites The Younger, Jaime Luciano Balmes, Peter The Apostle, Paul The Apostle, Luke The Evangelist, St. Vincent de Paul, Clare of Assisi, Thérèse of Lisieux, Thomas The Apostle, Thomas of Aquinas, St. Antonio of Padua, Joseph of Arimathea, St. Joseph, St. Filomena, Francis of Assisi, Francis of Borgia, Mary de la Cabeza, Pierre Bonhomme, Seraphim of Sarov, The Martyrs of Lichfield, William of York, Margaret of Castello, Ida of Boulogne, Jacques Laval, Isaac The Great... as well as all the previously spotlighted saints and angelic ones, featured here in the illustrious past of TLB Prime's very own "Saints & Angels" tradition... Look for them all, in the luminous archives! :)

Some, like Conan O'Brien, go out of their way to concoct specials on ghoulish festive days when things go bump in the night (e.g. the entire episode -season 13, #2304- broadcast in daring "skelevision" on October 31st...)
Others, such as, oh, I don't know... Luciano Pimentel? They will rather make specials on true holidays! To each his or her own, eh? ;)

All-Hallows' Eve - and nothing's stirring, not even a louse...

What can one add about a so-called "holiday" that celebrates horrendous and fiendish creepy creatures, death and decay, not to mention very bad eating habits...?

Two things are at the very "heart" (so to speak) of this crapfest, year in and year out, of course - aside from the obvious carnivalesque aspects of it, where one can enjoy the freedoms of going incognito and letting loose while hiding behind an actual mask -not merely an imagined even though very real one- this is party time for death and witchcraft addicts... When it is "cool" to look evil, if not be it outright... Death is "cool" too - though none of these bozos seem to know what it truly entails... Look at the above picture for instance; twenty bucks for a fake tombstone. Wow, what a deal. Morbid yet so "cool" - will it be stored away in the "off-season" between halloweens or shall it remain as a permanent fixture of the decor? What a dilemma... Keep on ingurgitating candy as if there were no tomorrow, kiddies, and you will get a real one for all your efforts, not a fake one... But that is another story...

In a society where everything is trivialized (that is, up until that crucial and cruel moment in time when it happens to YOU...) we can see that nothing would be sacred, not even death... Death which, anyway, shall be no more one day... The witchcraft crap though - with clueless pagans thinking it is all harmless and even "good", when they know not what else is truly out there, in the field that they have chosen... Witches, true evil ones, are not easily spottable. If rewritten vampire mythology has it that even ol' Dracula can walk around in broad daylight without burning to a crisp, believe you me when I say to you that no witches fly around on broomsticks... Legend has it, actually, that they use rather strange ointments actually, and that those, meticulously spread out upon their naked bodies, allow them to levitate... Can you accomplish that feat, neo-pagans who worship the ground J.K.R. spat on? I doubt it! That is because Samhain customers are not "witches" - and, once and for all, they should be real HAPPY about that! Now go ahead and choose a new name for yourselves... I suggest "eclectics"...
Now back to the dead, shall we? Ghost stories have that perennial interest quality - but the interest in them hits its peak around... NOW! Those are usually tales of hauntings - though only the ignorant and incognizant will think that ghosts are perpetually haunting us... Some ghost stories are better than others, evidently... Some are 100% TRUE.
Such are the tales from Merchant's House Museum... Only one example of the kind, "out there"... Click on the link above or below, and if the article is not to be found any longer, read it in the comments section right here, on TLB Prime! If all else fails, click on the ghastly skeleton-tombstone above - it should take you to the official site of origin!

I'll say this only in memory of the great, delectable Carolyn Jones -
"happy halloween"! May you never celebrate it again though...

Luminous *** YOU ROCK *** List...!!! - - - Second Edition

...
Red Auerbach -
You had the flair to found a basketball dynasty in Boston and ensure that it remained that way for a long time with your judicious drafting and trading, years after your coaching days had ended... Much more so than your Boston Bruins counterpart, Harry Sinden, could do with his hockey franchise, you led the Boston Celtics to such heights for such a long time... You not only led them to the promised land on so many occasions -including an incredible run that came so close to ten straight championship years; something NO sports franchise can EVER equal- but, once there, once having made the elite Celtics line-up, you made sure that your players partook of all that there was there to partake of...! And now, having done it all and seen it all, having won and lost, having smoked so many cigars of victory and having tasted the bitter taste of defeat as well... Now, you've departed for the greatest journey yet! One that dwarfs in importance the NBA Finals, Super Bowl, World Series, Euro Cup, World Cup and Stanley Cup Finals combined...!!!
You will fare just as well as ever, Red...! ;)

Zdeno Chara -
You rock'em, you sock'em - and you scored the game winner too! And those were your former teammates you took it to! You're a Boston Bruin true and true! Cam The Man Neely passed on the torch to you - and that would have never been with a Big Bird type of sissy like Joe Thornton or a Tom Thumb type of stiff such as Sergei Samsonov... Sure, the Boston Bruins are far from emulating the Neely-Bourque-Oates all-too-brief era right now... But that very same era was only trying itself to emulate the Esposito-Orr-Bucyk era to begin with - minus the two Stanley Cup championships. :(
But I digress...

Heroes -
You put to shame all the other TV and theatrically-released (but only straight-to-DVD worthy) so-called "super" heroes ever put to live action film... The only other one that would come close to being half as good as you are is the (allegedly) too expensive to produce on a weekly basis AQUAMAN / MERCY REEF series on the CW... NBC's Heroes do have tons of special effects though - is it not as costly to have guys not fall off 30-story high buildings and splatter all over the pavement and have them float in thin air instead... than it is to have guys swim at unbelievable -if not unfathomable- top speeds in miraculously non-polluted waters?
At any rate... Heroes is a million times better than "X-Men" - a billion times better than "Mutant X" - a trillion times better than "Fantastic Four" and a gazillion times better than the animated "Avengers" and "Justice League"... not to mention the "League of Extraordinary Gentlemen"...

Frappr -
Finally, a cozy website where people can be themselves, no rush, no pressure, no... Well, not much of anything right now, to be honest, since the site is at a stage in its evolution that reeks of "pre-pubescence"... However, it is not too big for its own good (like Myspace.com appears to have gotten - word is its novelty is wearing off now that it reached "critical mass" like that...) nor is it too small in its true impact (like, oh, I don't know... Care2connect? Care2.com that is... It doesn't even know what to call itself! Sheesh... Plus, it is chock-full of hypocritical folks in its ranks - people who do NOT truly care about the environment or any other cause for that matter... All they truly care about is THEMSELVES! Quite a shame to misuse the potential of such a site that way... If they truly banded together, environmentalists and pet lovers could have a much bigger impact - by connecting on that site -as they only profess to do and strive to do- and then going out on the field to save forests, save animals in distress, save the whales, save the seas... But all of that is another story... A sad one indeed...)
Better scroll down to an older post - or seek it in the archives - for truly caring people! As for Frappr - it has no pretensions whatsoever and that is exactly why it rocks!

GOD -
YOU RULE THE UNIVERSE - YOU MAKE IT ALL MAKE SENSE WHEN IT DOESN'T SEEM TO BE MAKING ANY SENSE WHATSOEVER IN OUR TINY, ITSY-BITSY INTELLECTS... YOU MAKE OUR HEARTS GROW IN ACCEPTANCE, PARDON, FORGIVENESS, CARING, FAIRNESS, PURE LOVE... YOU MAKE US BETTER THAN WE CAN POSSIBLY DREAM OF EVER BEING! YOU DO IT ALL FOR US - AND ALL WE HAVE TO DO IS ACCEPT YOU INTO OUR HEARTS, INTO OUR LIVES, INTO OUR MINDS AND INTO OUR SOULS. WHY IS IT SO HARD FOR SOME OF US TO DO EVEN THAT? WHY ARE THERE SUCH INGRATES IN OUR NUMBERS - GROWING IN NUMBERS DAY-BY-DAY TOO...?!? AND WHY... OR RATHER, HOW CAN YOU FORGIVE THEM ALL AS YOU DO, MY LORD GOD ALL-MIGHTY? THOU ART TRULY MAGNIFICENT, OMNISCIENT AND OMNIPOTENT - ONLY YOU COULD BE SO GOOD! :)
Please, God, grant that Red Auerbach comes back as a sort-of guardian angel for the two teams that play in the TD BANKNORTH GARDEN... And inspire them both to win, win, win! ;)

Statistics Sundays - Alarming Edition 2

...

MORE THAN 11 MILLION CHILDREN DIE EACH YEAR DUE TO THE UNEQUAL DISTRIBUTION OF OUR PLANET'S WEALTH...

I always decried wasteful all-american ways (that includes Canada too, mind you).
My disparaging is seldom heeded though...
Just imagine all the starving stomachs we could have fed with all the food we threw away because it spoiled - in our supermarkets, restaurants and own households...
How many of those millions could have eaten... and lived?
The laws of consumerism and the spectre of overpopulation must be respected - to the detriment of lives... At the cost of innocence...
Why, oh-but tell me why can't we make poverty history - once and for all? Don't we care enough to do so?
Do we not care or worry about our fellow man in this day and age? Don't we feel as if we are all brothers and sisters - and occupants of the same spaceship hurtling through space as time, around that big glimmering sun we all share, for only a short time at that...?
Apparently not...
