radiohead...?!? we could easily butt heads over this for a loooong time now...

Radiohead's seminal album 'OK Computer' was voted the ''greatest album of all time'' recently by a panel of so-called experts - as is always the case - the usual suspects hence! Hmm... while it is true that we live in the computer age and that Radiohead has produced some gems (maybe not all on THAT album though)... are they really ''numero uno'' - really?!? I was glad to see many of my faves on the top 100 list - such as The Who, Pixies and Patti Smith - but, again... no Rush... no Genesis?!? Several one-shot wonders - but no Cranberries or P.J. Harvey or Liz Phair? It ain't fair to Phair! *LOL*
Just my two bucks worth (whereas other peeps would say two cents) - carry on...!

Comments:
Radiohead the greatest, OK?
(BANG) - Radiohead's 'OK Computer' has been voted the greatest album of all time.

The British band was awarded the prestigious title after topping a poll by British TV station Channel Four to find music fans' favourite records.

Radiohead, fronted by Tom Yorke, beat off stiff competition from a host of critically acclaimed artists including The Beatles, U2, Queen and Nirvana to claim the top spot.

The 1997 album, which was a worldwide hit, was closely followed by U2's 'The Joshua Tree' and Nirvana's 'Nevermind'.

Scandal-hit Michael Jackson's pop masterpiece 'Thriller' - which spawned an incredible seven hit singles - was voted into fourth position.

Pink Floyd's 'Dark Side of the Moon' came fifth, Oasis' debut album 'Definitely Maybe' sixth, while The Beatles' 'Sgt Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band' and 'Revolver' came seventh and tenth respectively making them the only band to have two entries in the top ten.

Radiohead's victory was applauded by a whole host of musicians including REM singer Michael Stipe who described the album as a "classic, brilliant record."

The poll quizzed half a million people to find their favourite records. The results were broadcast on television last night (17.04.05).

Hi Luciano,

I have a few of those CDs listed above but not many.
Here are my faves I'll add to the list. The first one I am listening to right now, singing right along with it! :)

102. EVANESCENCE - Fallen

103. CREED - My Own Prison

104. CREED - Human Clay

105. CREED - Weathered

I still love CREED's music even though the band is no more! :(

The albums above are the ones I listen to over and over and over again! I listened to CREED almost exclusivly for 2 years! I rarely ever turn on the radio. I just listen to my CDs.

A bit of a crush on Creed you have there... eh? *lol*

Well, at least it isn't any hardcore death metal band... hmm... right?!?

LOL

106. QUICKSILVER Soundtrack album

Yah - the lousy Kevin Bacon movie! Had some GREAT music though - most notably by Anthony Banks of Genesis fame!

:)

107. QUARTERFLASH - their debut album

Just for the classic unforgettable song (lyrics as melody-wise) ''Harden My Heart''...

Paul sure took his time but he e-mailed his expert comments on the subject - it is his field, after all... right Paul? *lol*

''... right on - radiohead rules! The smashing pumpkins not being on this list - and the human league being there though just barely making it - THAT is a travesty! soundgarden and metallica should have cracked the top 100 too...''

Metallica?
They only sound so good because they have SOMEBODY ELSE write their lyrics for them...!!!

Lost your edge, Paulie Boy... but at least, you didn't lose your cool... this time! *LOL*
