Statistics Sundays - Special Edition

Whoa - woes? Woe to MOI? No way, San Jose! You will NOT win the Stanley Cup - not now, not ever. But that is another story...
The real story here today is about a nitwit broad who DARED quote from the Holy Bible when she found herself unable to rival with my eloquence and witty repartee. That happens all the time. But what seldom happens, to me, is to see the hypocrite try and turn the tables on me by affixing MY PERSON with his or her major flaws... THAT, folks, has to be the most laughable thing of all - on top of being the most pathetic attempt at coming out on top in the history of mankind. Blind fools who can only see things in reverse evidently don't know any other way to go about TRYING (against all hope and reason) to win their arguments...
Hence the WITCH looked up a passage of the Good Book to call upon WOE that really can only befall HER wretched hypocritical kind... What brought that about was that I was telling her truths she can't STOMACH. She has CHANGED RELIGIONS because of that sickly behaviour of hers - COWARDICE is what it is! She can't believe that EVIL exists, that there are fallen angels and, especially, she can't accept that she made such a pathetic mistake by marrying a jerk the first time around... giving birth to TWO (rather than just one) bastards from that unholy union... and DIVORCING (which, for her culture, is a shame). Hence she sought and signed up with a so-called "church" that doesn't believe in evil or devils and, most importantly, wipes out the VALIDITY of her first marriage! Hence, she could remarry nonchalantly with a SECOND JERK who adheres to the same mockery of a church - the mimickery and amalgamation of various styles officially known as the officious Christadelphians. (I do hope a Christadelphian will have the guts to comment on here; it might prove to be impossible though, judging from their inability to READ the Word - how can they read this blog?!?)
Now, as for the woes SHE HAS COMING HER WAY...
A fascinating search, courtesy of Bible Gateway (linked to TLB Prime since day one!) has unearthed no less than 95 hits and NONE is phrased quite the way that her DOCTORED BIBLE phrases it... Not surprising at all to me, really...

Mind you, all these woes, and the original argument with the nitwit was all about her deeply-ingrained jealousy of me (goes back years) and... MONEY.

Not my fault she is up to her neck in debts...
Relax...
Go to Tim Horton's and have a timbit...

ISAIAH 5:20 is THE BEST... and exactly what this was all about too, from a certain perspective!

It is, of course, the passage that I was paraphrasing in my post dated APRIL 5TH...

Finally, I would be remiss if I did not point out an "odd anniversary" today (on top of today being the anniversary - a week ago, really - of the argument in question here...)

The odd anniversary is... 20 YEARS AGO TODAY - "1986: Motorist near Rosa, Manitoba, sees a Bigfoot standing in the middle of Highway 59."

No... it was NOT Montreal personality "The Great Antonio"...

The woe's of this world will be gone when we see our creator in heaven.

I am glad you are posting in your blog again. Today marks one year since the day I became a TLB fan!

Take care Luce.
God Bless You (\ô/)

I'm holding my son so pardon any typos ..i just wanted to say that I am a recent Chistadelphian and i happened across your blog when doing a search..i by no means claim to be a great debator but i should BE ABle ( sorry baby hitting keys) to defend what i believe...i'll try to respond later if my son will be still

You're very welcomed to do so.

I only wish it was my own so-called flesh-and-blood that would show as much guts as you unquestionably have.

Remember that NO ONE ON THIS EARTH knows "The Truth" in all of its complexity - we can know The Truth in its general overview only...

However, I would like you to explain to my audience what has your brethren so convinced that there are no demons out there... They are NOT mere scapegoats, you know. They are real. The irony of it all is that my christadelphian cousin's VERY OWN DAD would always say the following: "demons exist; they are human beings! Humans become demons".

Oh... and the evidence, from time immemorial, that evil exists seems to confirm that the first devil was a fallen angel indeed.

After all, doing evil does not empower anyone with magical abilities. Abilities that allow for such deceiving prowess... and such longevity! Only a former heavenly being could have any such powers...

Something else my cousin's dad talked about often...

I will leave the "Redemption Debate" for last... Since it is clearly the best topic!

Well, I presume that someone in higher authority within the Christadelphian Hierarchy has told you NOT to partake of this... hmm?

I know you are a close, tightly-knit unit... mostly because of your small numbers.

Schism exists within your ranks still - you admitted to it on your blogs and, to be quite frank, my cousin has admitted to it too.

Odd bit of eerieness and a FACT: the "priest" from your "church" who married my cuz with her "one and only valid spouse"... keeled over dead a mere few days later!
Do you think that he displeased God in telling such absurdities as "the previous marriage is NOT VALID" - simply because those were vows exchanged in the Roman Catholic Church?!?

I would suggest that your group takes out the first few letters (the ones forming "CHRIST") from your name. Those WHO DO NOT KNOW CHRIST, do not recognize Him as The Saviour and misquote him constantly (to the point that it appears that you are calling him a liar...!) SHOULD NOT NAME THEMSELVES AFTER HIM!

Hence, "Adelphians" seems more appropriate indeed...

No, I am not giving you Adolf connotations - merely making you more along the lines of Atheists, Agnostics and Apathy fanboys... which is what you are closer to, in the final analysis of things!

Speaking for myself here, I was another denomination formerly, and we had done a word study on "hell" went through and read in context everytime it was used in the bible.... from there my conclusion led me to believe that two places referred to the grave and one referred to a judgment for unfaithful people... with that said... once the idea of hell was altered to not being some flame filled place for sinners to go and be tortured etc.. I started to question other aspects of my faith--- whenI read in Isaih about Lucifer -- in the past I had been told that this was the fallen angel well you know what Satan is traditionally thought of as being- but when I read the previous chapters and read the passage straight through I came to a different conclusion... and in the case of demons again it has a lot to do with context--- when jesus casts out demons it seems he's casting out illnesses---

I'm really sleepy its almost 10pm and for me that's late (wow I'm getting old) let me post some verses and I'll try to get back -- because I feel my lids getting heavy just typing now...
Isaiah 13:1--- this tells me who is being addressed in this prohphecy...

The burden of Babylon, which Isaiah the son of Amoz did see.

This made me question-- because last time I checked "satan" didn't have nephews...
Isa 14:22 For I will rise up against them, saith the LORD of hosts, and cut off from Babylon the name, and remnant, and son, and nephew, saith the LORD.

this chapter is a phrophecy about babylon but the chapters surrounding it have "burdens" about different places-- it didn't make sense for me to believe that right in the middle of this pattern of prophecies about different lands there was a verse plopped in about some fallen angel -- i had always just taken it for granted...

oh that verse was Thy pomp is brought down to the grave, [and] the noise of thy viols: the worm is spread under thee, and the worms cover thee.

Isa 14:12 How art thou fallen from heaven, O Lucifer, son of the morning! [how] art thou cut down to the ground, which didst weaken the nations!

Isa 14:13 For thou hast said in thine heart, I will ascend into heaven, I will exalt my throne above the stars of God: I will sit also upon the mount of the congregation, in the sides of the north:

Isa 14:14 I will ascend above the heights of the clouds; I will be like the most High.

but I'm sure you knew that one already--

and lets see an example of the demon ones...or devils.. i can't recall now which one you were asking about (you can no doubt get into real debate with those who know greek and hebrew...liek I said I'm not as advanced in all of that sort of thing or debating really)

Mat 8:16 When the even was come, they brought unto him many that were possessed with devils: and he cast out the spirits with [his] word, and healed all that were sick:

Mat 8:17 That it might be fulfilled which was spoken by Esaias the prophet, saying, Himself took our infirmities, and bare [our] sicknesses.

sounds to me like he fulfilled the phrophecy and cast out the "devils" by healing the sickness

oh and the schism i wrote about was not about my current experience as a Christadelphian but I am sure they happen within some groups-- we are human afterall

The schism I was alluding to is that which is permanent both within the FAMILY LIFE as within the Christadelphian ecclesia (if you really can call it that) in my cousin's life...

Hint: Tom Perks is the contact for sad ecclesia... ;)

Oh - what a typo...

Sad... I meant "said ecclesia"... of course!

As for casting out ILLNESSES...

When Jesus says IN OUR LORD'S PRAYER "deliver us from evil" - it mustn't be a mere illness he is alluding to.

Jesus shivered when He spoke those words - he would not be displeased this way by the mere inclinnations of men and women to commit evil...

He was not dillusional in the desert either - the devil was not merely "his own sinful nature" nor was it a mirage...!

Jesus spoke of the source of evil - and it does have a source too, just like our goodness is not ours but comes from the Divine!

i agree evil exists.. man's heart is referred to as desperately wicked... also i have recently been asking myself tough questions about Gods will and God being the author of evil...exactly what is your definition of evil? as for temptation... Jam 1:13 Let no man say when he is tempted, I am tempted of God: for God cannot be tempted with evil, neither tempteth he any man:

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

also speaking of this tempted stuff

at 4:1 Then was Jesus led up of the Spirit into the wilderness to be tempted of the devil.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Mar 1:13 And he was there in the wilderness forty days, tempted of Satan; and was with the wild beasts; and the angels ministered unto him.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Luk 4:2 Being forty days tempted of the devil. And in those days he did eat nothing: and when they were ended, he afterward hungered.

if God cant be tempted and Jesus was tempted... that means Jesus was not God...

as i mentioned I myself have been trying to understand the existance of evil... the best I can see is that its because of our freewill.. if we didn't have the choice there wouldn't be evil... but if you'd like to get a more "educated " response there are plenty http://www.openbibleforum.org/forums/index.php?showtopic=152
and also here...

http://www.thechristadelphians.org/forums/

i don't rthink he was delusional in the desert... i think he was tempted the same way we are... thoughts in our mind etc... not an external conversation with a creature... but a battle in our mind... i also think he resists tempt. the same way we can.. his responses all came from scripture.. the wORD is our comfort and defense
Jam 1:14 But every man is tempted, when he is drawn away of his own lust, and enticed.

It is good that you do not think Jesus to have been delusional in the desert (delusional - and not "dillusional"...! Sheesh; I must have been far more tired than I initially thought when I started commenting here! *lol*)

However, you err in following the apparent logic in that GOD cannot be tempted - Jesus was, so he cannot be God.

The Truth is, Jesus was true man AND true God.

Each and every single one of us - even the rotten apples in the orchard - have a SPARK OF THE DIVINE within ourselves. That spark is called THE SOUL. Our souls come from God and that is why these souls will be judged by Him come Judgment Day. WE ARE HIS CREATION (like or not, atheists!)

If even the most insignificant gnat among our numbers has A SPARK OF THE DIVINE WITHIN HIM - don't you think it more than plausible that JESUS had such a spark too, ONLY A HUNDRED TIMES AS INCANDESCENT AS OURS!

His soul was the purest - His soul was a part of GOD. Ours is but created by God. However, Jesus was a prisoner within the flesh - just like we all are. And, for that short time when he was stuck within a mortal shell, he was afflicted with the same... shal we say "problems" that we are stuck with on a daily basis!

Once that spark is gone, once the soul has departed, our mortal coils are NOTHING INDEED. DUST; that is what we are all right.

That leads me to speak of another error your new dogma has at its core; the erroneous belief that once we die, we are "sleeping".

JESUS is not "sleeping".

It is ridiculously simplistic to look at someone in his coffin and say "yep - he's asleep".
NO HE IS NOT!

That someone's soul is FREE - that is not the time to "sleep"! It is our mortal bodies that need regenerative sleep - not our souls!
MAKE SENSE!

Tell your Christadelphian elders not only to make sense but also to QUIT DISCUSSING ABOUT WHAT THEY DON'T EVEN UNDERSTAND!

ONE NEEDS MINIMAL THINGS TO DO SO, FIRST - FAITH AND SOME IMAGINATION. TRYING TO UNDERSTAND THE SCRIPTURES AT FACE VALUE, WITHOUT ANY SPIRITUAL INTUITION WHATSOEVER, IS BUT PROCRASTINATING IN THE DARK.

And no blind men will lead any "questioners" to good port - ever!

I hav a few q's for you if you don't mind.... I don't think sleeping when referring to dead is the same as when our sleep when we live...but we can refer to them as being asleep because we don't believe it is the end..that is they'll wake or b resurrected in the future..

"Jesus was true man AND true God."

it says that he was the son of God...
incidentally so was adam...i don't think adam was God...
what does son of God mean to you?

this spark you are talking about im not sure where you are getting that... i agree that all things can show Gods glory in creation and were made by him and such but man was made in the imag of God and thats different than an apple...of course.

my questions:
do you believe in the resurrection of people other than Jesus?

what is your biblical definition of soul? it is my understanding that we are living souls not that we have a soul but that we are one....

this article explains that more but for a while i was hung up on what the difference is between a spirit and soul...
http://www.thechristadelphians.org/forums/index.php?showtopic=1400&st=0&p=28473&#entry28473

also i don't think jesus is sleeping still he was raised

ok gotta go i';; post more when i get a chance

The body sleeps, in life and when dead - the soul NEVER SLEEPS.

Upon death, the soul soars - to be with its Creator.

We look up to the stars throughout our earthly existences and we long to be up there, amongst the stars... BECAUSE WE WERE MADE THERE BY HE WHO IS LORD AND CREATOR OF ALL.

We each have two birthplaces - the birthplace of our bodies but, first and foremost, the birthplace of our souls.

WE are all sons of GOD hence - since we were all made by Him (even the evil ones)

Adam was the First Man - period.

Not Adam, nor Abraham nor Moses nor Mohammad nor anyone else (including Charles Taze Russell and his likeness in your faith...) - NO ONE ELSE came to "bridge the gap" between MAN and GOD... The gap was created by the advent of SIN.

Look here for a basic explanation of that wondrous concept...

The "spark" of the Divine is preasent in everything and anything - it is, of course, more evident and far more present in those elements of His Creation that have a SOUL; I believe that man and animal alike have souls. I won't push it so far as to include plants and inanimate objects though! But neither do you, so - surprise, surprise... we agree!

We also agree on another vital definition: we are living souls, absolutely. "We are spiritual beings living a human experience", as Pierre Teilhard de Chardin surmised so well...

You asked for my Biblical definition of soul and if I believed in the Resurrection - we will all be resurrected BODY AND SOUL - purified and renewed, not as we are presently - BECAUSE JESUS SAID SO - and other Scriptural sources state it as well... and He Came to accomplish those prophecies...

The soul is our true selves - freed of sickness, disease and death, ageless and immortal - except for those who are not worthy of such precious gifts.
Mat the Grace of God find us all worthy - but we know that many among us will not be.

I love that passage:
I Corinthians 15:51; Behold, I shew you a mystery: We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed.

This and many other passages from the Holy Bible are taken too LITERALLY by you guys though - you take it as "proof" that nothing lives on after death and that the only hope is the resurrection.

The Resurrection is the Hope, yes - however, the soul is alive with God; in His Domain. You speak like doctors who believe that, once brain activity is gone, there is nothing there anymore - even though the heart is beating still.

You also don't believe that there are fallen angels...

You do realize that the Bible omits certain things - and, although it is The Word of God in large part, was written by man. Over 40 authors contributed to It. They were enlightened by the Spirit - they were witnessing too. None of them were privy to the Thoughts of God though - and note thet Word and Thoughts are two different things!

There are no mentions of modern gizmos such as TVs, DVDs, and theWeb in the Good Book - if there are, it is in very broad strokes and in relation to the effects that those toys might have on the continuing evolution (de-evolution really) of mankind... All of these gizmos are very real and a huge part of our modern lives, now, IN THE END TIMES...

As with historical evidence of the historical Jesus, the absence of direct mention is not indicative of REALITY. (And yes - I am equating The Holy Bible to a true-blue History book; not as mere allegorical teaching material...)

Jesus said so many times that there were demons and that there was a heavenly abode for the souls of the worthy ones (worthy of being there - such as the "good thief" crucified at His Left...) - which means that the souls of the wicked remain behind... HERE. They walk the Earth. Another thing Jesus Said too: the wandering jew is supposed to still be walking the Earth. Maybe he is doing so - in spirit.

I am alternating between the terms "spirit" and "soul", I know - and it is not to confuse. The two words are almost interchangeable in the modern lexicon. Such as, also, the expression "not a living soul is to be found there now". DO NOT LET MERE TERMINOLOGY DISTRACT YOUR ATTENTION FROM THE TRUTH!

The soul is the energy of Life which animates our bodies - it is the REAL "us". The spirit is, indeed, the link to God - JESUS SAID RECEIVE MY SPIRIT! The spirit is our guidance, the barometer that sets us on the right track.

Another thing that the highest authority on all of these subjects said -that's JESUS again yeah- is that EXEGETS WERE BLIND... Don't be like them. Do not spend countless hours studying the Scriptures, thinking that that will suffice to save you - when you are blind to The Truth and do not see all the correlations in the real world and are unable to add it all up... thy precious time spent with thy Bible Study group is as if you had done absolutely NOTHING.

Jesus added, of course, that those who proclaimed that "Abraham is our father and that suffices to save us" WERE WRONG. So, with all due respect, I care not one iota if the Jewish community is "very upset" about the translations of the Hebrew words 'nephesh' and 'neshamah chay'...

They are so blind that they did not recognize their prophets when they came to them - they did recognize the Messiah wither, of course. They are picky about words and phrases... they are using their minds, when JESUS SAID IT VERY CLEARLY (to Judas incidentally, whose alleged gospel was found recently... "the lost gospel"...) - "DO NOT OPEN YOUR MIND, JUDAS; OPEN YOUR HEART!"

Do as Judas should have done - OPEN YOUR HEART.

Look beyond the alleged meaning of words and grasp the Truth. And realize that only GOD HIMSELF CAN SHOW IT TO YOU. Not any Bible student. Not any theologian. Not any preacher. Not any exeget. Not any scholar. Not anyone on this Earth. ONLY GOD'S SPIRIT CAN GUIDE YOU.

Open your heart and let It in then.

Jesus was raised, yes - and He Is Alive!

The rest of us - living AND dead - are awaiting His Judgment.
Hence, think of the vastness of space as one gigantic waiting room...

And the ones anxious to DELAY these proceedings -for they know that their time of "fun" is short and that their complete end (the death of their soul too) is near- those are the demons and their acolytes, the sinners among us who reject or know not God.

You think Jesus lied to the good thief? He did tell him "today, you will be with Me in Paradise".
You believe that a dying man, on the Cross, dying FOR OUR SINS because He was innocent and THE MESSIAH and without any sin of His own... you think that such a Man would lie to a fellow dying man?

You are like the Sanhedrin then - these insufferable blind SOULS (...) who marveled that He recited The Scriptures... even on the Cross... They still did not BELIEVE; hence they called him a liar, EVEN THEN - EVEN ON THE CROSS.

And anyone who does not believe in the words of a dying Man without sin - but dares to be picky about translations of an ancient language, taken out of cultural context... Anyone like that does make much sense to me - SPIRITUALLY AS RATIONALLY!

Would you be interested in discussing here? http://www.thechristadelphians.org/forums/index.php?act=idx I think it'd be better than just posting in a comment section and we can seperate topics, its a bible truth discussion forum so its not just christadelphians...

you say a lot...lol i would still like to keep discussing, but i don't want my not quick replies to let something fall away unsaid... just scrolling back up to look..

i on't want to get too particular here but i dont think they had commas back in the day...so couldnt it read..
i tell you today, you will be with me in paradise???

because jesus waited 3 days before ascending to the father...

Hmm... that is a good point indeed.

Also to factor in is that GOD's Thoughts are FROM UP THERE - and our thoughts are from down here!

Maybe Jesus did mean indeed "I tell you today, you will be with me in paradise (someday? soon? come Judgment Day? After the Great Big Clean Up...?!?)

Or...

(and the way I always imagined it - with this great gift from God given to me and to many more too - sometimes overactive imagination!)

Jesus was talking about their souls - who have only one way to go and that's UP!

Jesus is THE ONLY ONE thus far to resurrect completely - Lazarus was simply summoned back into his body, which then lived out a normal lifespan again. JESUS is Above us all - He Alone merits the Resurrection, really, if we do go by on merit alone...!

The "temporary resurrection" of Lazarus though is an element of proof that death is for the body only - and that something else survives - something ESSENTIAL. That essence goes back to God, indeed - and GOD Can do with it what He Wants! He Could Have Resurrected millions already - Had He Chosen to! However, all will be judged at once (time is not relevant here; unlike with earthly flawed meting out of so-called justice, where a simple case can linger on for months...) and so all will await The Day of Reckoning.

Some can have privileges though - logically, some should be awaiting that day in a place of privilege, higher up than some others who have sinned without the slightest hint of repentance.

There is no hell yet (the Lake of Fire is for the very end) and there certainly isn't any purgatory either or any other place like it (all inventions of a church trying some scare tactics instead of proselytizing in pure and due form...) but there sure is a heaven and there sure are levels of enlightenment...

The most enlightened souls are certainly closer to Paradise... maybe at the Gates of It... while the lowest of the low dwell in the dark, back down here, on Earth!

It might sound all like a very Catholic take on it all - but it this "scheme" would corroborate the other things that Jesus said... about unclean spirits and the like.

I make no promises, but since I have debated in the past on other sites... I could do it again on yours.

Hmm... master reviewer, eh? Called and Appointed to do so... by whom? Anybody I know? Am I incurring a fine here? Oooooo - I'm scared!

But I digress...

You seem to be mighty happy that you do not have a "Church hierarchy" - good for you. Happiness is a priceless thing. However, such a communal ambiance leads to too many errors over the long haul... One needs ONE conductive force and line of thought - and I would say "let it be JESUS" - only, you infer that he might have lied rather routinely and prove therefore NOT TO BE WORTHY OF HIM.

Your suggestion to "all who would think to judge and rule over someone else" is not bad - only Rom 14 and 1Cor 4 do not say to LOVE THE SINNER AND HATE THE SIN. And that is imperative.

Don't know about you, but I never use "deity" as an adjective but always as a noun. And it is always preceded by "false" too - as in "false deities such as Zeus" or "that no-good false deity Bacchus"... See?

It sure is different from Divinity - yes! As in The Divinity of Christ!

Another point you are most correct on is that there are "a couple of things that you don't understand". Make it, however, a couple of dozens!

Jesus couldn't have completely died, no. NO ONE ever completely dies! Much less The Son of God!

"Life in the bible begins when God gives the breath of life." - right, but please always capitalize The Bible!

Psalms 146:6 may say that when we die, our thoughts perish - but those are our earthly thoughts. Ecclesiastes... ecclesiastes... WHO ARE the ecclesiastes? Priests? YOU like priests? Or is it Paul again, speaking... You question how Jesus said this and said that, knows this and doesn't know that... did this and did that!? I will question who in blue blazes are the ecclesiastes to know that the DEAD "don't know nothing"?!? WHAT DO THEY KNOW? What do you?

Jesus died the same way that we do FOR OUR SINS. Case closed.

Now, about God's immutability... GOD Makes the rules - right? GOD and only GOD Can Make an EXCEPTION to those rules! Especially if the goal was OUR SALVATION! You seem none too happy that He Did - that He BOTHERED! I thought you to "BE HAPPY"...?!? Oh well...

Your train of thought goes off rail mighty fast here - "If God was immortal, and changed to add a second nature of mortality how can he be immutable? If God was immortal, and then died did he not change to become mortal? And then, after the resurrection he changed again and became immortal again?" MY, OH MY - AREN'T WE OVERTHINKING THINGS THERE!
Reminds me of my kin of is one of your "brethren" now when SHE is trying real hard to "think" and "deduce" the Truth too...

Truth is, you cannot do that and never will. Not when you are mixing up The Father and The Son and blind to the most basic truth of all - THAT ALL THINGS ARE POSSIBLE TO HIM!

Especially when His Love for US is a part of the equation!

You answered yourself further down there though, when you typed "that it is not for us to know" (the Time of His Return - and practically anything else it seems!)
Quit pegging your Lord as a liar - lest you seek a TRULY RUDE AWAKENING... The Son was among us - hence only The Father Knew. The Son, Resurrected and Glorified, Is once more One with The Ominiscient. Is that so difficult to grasp?

We have different terminology - yet again. You qualify Jesus Christ as our "High Priest" (sorry - too pagan-sounding for my tastes! Besides, I thought you didn't like priests or a hierarchy?) and "Mediator" (which is too much like a negociator in a very earthly and mundane -if not downright insignificant- conflict! You seem to put your salvation at the same level as a hostage situation or worse - a labor dispute?!?)

Me, I know Jesus Christ as The Liberator, The Redeemer, The Lamb of God, The Lion of Juda, The Saviour, The Son of God, The Messiah and The Only Way To The Father!

I suggest you re-read your Bible and seek validation for all the names that I've used just now - it is all there. No such validation will be found for the title of "high priest" especially...

Am I being picky?
Well, you and the Witnesses are always being nitpicky about the word origins - usually Greek indeed - so I thought TWO CAN PLAY THAT GAME... (Make it three? I am in neither camp!)

"Demons are a much harder topic to address" you stated - without a doubt! You call several true witnesses to their existence liars blatantly and, verily, I find it obstination to the utmost degree... obtusely speaking, of course!

Let's see now - the "devil" is nothing but "evil men of the last days" (what, there were none in the first days? History proves otherwise...) and twice you pin the blame on old hags too?
Is that why sons and daughters of your devotees have been found to BEAT UP THEIR GRANDMOTHERS?!? Sheesh - and you cultivate such hatred of the elderly dames through your veiled, apparently non-existent but pervasively present "un-hierarchy"! That's what it is! The moment one of you takes the podium and speaks before the others - you have a hierarchy! You deny such a basic reality - no wonder you deny other unseen truths to no end!!!

Greek mythology did not even have a devil - Pan is but a buffoon compared to the Adversary found in the Bible! Numerous passages repeat that there were demons - that there were angels who fell from grace - and you keep denying that and look towards Timothy and Titus for some valid claims to lay all the blame upon old broads?!? If at least you spoke of witches there... But then, you'd deny that it is said in the Good Book that "thou shalt not suffer a witch to live" as well?
What does it say about heretics that reinterpret The Word ceaselessly to fit their own views and designs - pray tell?

I know that you look (at fallen angels) "as an absurdity" - and it is very absurd to do so too! God created BOTH man and angels with a purpose - BOTH can go astray! NONE OF HIS CREATIONS WERE MEANT TO EVER DIE - and yes, the wages of sin are DEATH indeed... BUT DEATH IN A SPIRITUAL SENSE. Your train of thought flies off the railways this time with the following: "And, because the wages of sin is death (Rom 6:23) then those who are immortal cannot sin. Therefore, God’s mighty ones cannot sin. Therefore angels, in the sense of God’s supernatural beings, cannot sin."

I shall come back and post the verses that declare, clearly and concisely, that there are fallen angels and that they are hopeless...

FOR NO ONE EXCEPT GOD IS IMMORTAL UNTIL THE FINAL JUDGMENT HAS BEEN RENDERED!
Alas, your problem is that you are all too stuck up on definitions attributed to certain wordings and translations.
IMMUTABILITY precludes a TRINITY, a REDEMPTION BY CRUCIFIXION and a RESURRECTION - even though all of the latter events took place.
ANGELHOOD and the status of IMMORTALITY FOR THE HEIRS OF SALVATION preclude the basic and simple fact that this is all YET TO COME...
ANGELS ARE AWAITING THE DAY AS ANXIOUSLY AS THE SOULS OF THESE HEIRS... AND EVEN THE SOULS OF THE LOST!

And no one is awaiting this "in a deep sleep".

If only your grandma's ghost could be allowed to drop by and tell you all that - she surely must feel like lambasting you for your hatred of old ladies!

Note that slandering is bad - but denying the Truth is worse.

And committing evil is still worse yet.

And speaking of which...

"Evil comes from man, man’s heart. It is that which defiles the man (Mat 15:18)"

Certainly.

And those men (or women) who give way to their bases instincts and evil natures and sin repeatedly and unrepentently will be LOST - and add to the numbers of Gehenna who are considerable (and it says so in The Bible too)

LOST SOULS ARE DEVILS TOO.
HOWEVER, EVIL WOULD NOT HAVE ANY POWER AT ALL LIKE IT DOES, TO LEAD SO MANY ASTRAY, IF IT WASN'T ORIGINALLY THAT OF A FALLEN ANGEL BEHIND IT. AND NOT JUST ONE EITHER...

The desires of worldy things and to "be like God" and "know all there is to know" would not have entered man's mind if it weren't for a third party JEALOUS of the very creation of Man.

Lusts and desires are ONE THING - the drive to cause ill to one's fellow man and the power to do so is ANOTHER THING ENTIRELY.

The source of TEMPTATION may be our very own lusts and desires.

But the source of power (and that drive) for TRUE EVIL lies elsewhere.

And you are fools to ignore it - and deny its existence.

You are, in effect, its tools in doing so.

Here are, as promised, the unequivocal statements that confirm that devils/demons/fallen angels EXIST:

2 PETER chapter 2 verse 4
(but I'd read the whole chapter if I were you)

MATTHEW 25:41

LUKE 11:14-23

MARK 9:38-41

1 JOHN 3:8 and of course

APOCALYPSE 20:10

And besides, one has but to open one's eyes to see them - all around us.

Don't be like Jerusalem (Luke 19: 41-44 ... and I love verses 45-48 too!)

Don't be like the rest of the world either (JOHN 14:17)

Alas, you all make me think of 1 JOHN 2:18...

Did you even read and FULLY UNDERSTOOD JOHN Chapter 10?
Hint: the key to full understanding is NOT ethymology...

Oh - and for my kin that you think I've been too harsh with - re-read, both of you, MARK Chapter 10!
