Statistics Sundays - Alarming Edition 2
...
MORE THAN 11 MILLION CHILDREN DIE EACH YEAR DUE TO THE UNEQUAL DISTRIBUTION OF OUR PLANET'S WEALTH...
I always decried wasteful all-american ways (that includes Canada too, mind you).
My disparaging is seldom heeded though...
Just imagine all the starving stomachs we could have fed with all the food we threw away because it spoiled - in our supermarkets, restaurants and own households...
How many of those millions could have eaten... and lived?
The laws of consumerism and the spectre of overpopulation must be respected - to the detriment of lives... At the cost of innocence...
Why, oh-but tell me why can't we make poverty history - once and for all? Don't we care enough to do so?
Do we not care or worry about our fellow man in this day and age? Don't we feel as if we are all brothers and sisters - and occupants of the same spaceship hurtling through space as time, around that big glimmering sun we all share, for only a short time at that...?
Apparently not...
