Luminous Cinema
So rarely do we get to see,
these days,
a truly brilliant use
of cinematography
coupled with
the most worthy
of subject matters
as well...
This is one of the few cases
to come to mind
in recent times:
DES DIEUX
ET
DES HOMMES
(Of Gods And Men)
A title that,
at first glance,
might have seemed
highly pretentious -
but it is not at all
for it takes its roots
in The Word:
alas, it sins in pluralizing GOD
and then placing Him second
(as it is, the French title is,
really, "Des Hommes et Des Dieux"
- what the h...?!?)
This movie
redeems many a career:
starting with
lead actors
Lambert Wilson,
Michael Lonsdale
and also
Olivier Rabourdin.
The likes of
Jacques Herlin,
sublime as
Frère Amédée,
and Loic Pichon,
also find here
the roles of their
respective
careers.
The directorial work
is perfectly fit
for the tale retold here:
the story of heroic
courageous
and luminous
-indeed-
fortitude
in the face of
terrorism
and savagery.
And all of it fueled
by that most
wonderful
sustenance
of all -
FAITH.

I cannot say enough
about this movie,
verily -
so I invite all
to see it
ASAP.
