A Luminous Anniversary!
Aw, drats. It's that time of the year again: time to officially add one up to your scoreboard. Usually, when it comes to the old scoreboard thing, the more is the merrier... We never have enough! Beyond putting together a good tally; one wants to make damn sure it will not be topped! And so we can be tempted then to overindulge, add on more than one truly needs (are you all getting that analogy, are you? It can be multi-adaptable, aye!) However, there surely comes a time when too much is no longer such a good thing... no? Nonetheless, we'll just keep on adding, more and more - blame it on the consumeristic society we've been brought up in, eh?
All this to say that, if some wish everyday was like Christmas Time,
well, I personally have to thank Katy Perry
my Lusitanian sister (!)
for coming out with this song right on time
and a video that matches my feelings
regarding celebrating such things...
Take it away, Katy!
Now I sense some sort of a crisis coming up -
and it is all fine and dandy since,
in a particular culture we shall not name,
''crisis'' is synonymous with ''witty turn of thought''
(rather than other concepts...)
and, so, it is in that frame of mind
(and with a partial headache, too; alas)
that I look at this next phase we're going through,
(which is officially beginning...ah, soon enough!)
as nothing more than just that:
a new perspective, expressed through witticisms
once again - a whole barrage of them!
(And some Double Entendre with that; occasionally!)
Hence the choice of the following song,
at this very crucial time:
Now, first the band: have no fear,
I intend not to literally have
''Faith No More'' -
at the time of this song and video's release,
I cared not if the message was atheistic or not:
like most people, I found the melody catchy,
the riff ''accrocheur'' and the overall result
não muito ruim assim...!
não muito ruim assim...!
As for the lyrics... total complete nonsense!
Now, if we are to attach any meaning today
to this song's words,
in the context of this blog post
and its selection to grace it,
we must see it all as
a timely and judicious jab at
the creeps behind the
heartbleed bug
nothing more, nothing less!
(Although temptation is there
-it sure is: right there, below...!-
to see other things...)
(Although temptation is there
-it sure is: right there, below...!-
to see other things...)
So, this is for you, buggers!
Play it again and follow the words, this time...

Go on and wring my neck
Like when a rag gets wet
A little discipline
For my pet genius
My head is like lettuce
Go on dig your thumbs in
I cannot stop giving
I'm thirty-something
Like when a rag gets wet
A little discipline
For my pet genius
My head is like lettuce
Go on dig your thumbs in
I cannot stop giving
I'm thirty-something
Sense of security
Like pockets jingling
Midlife crisis
Suck ingenuity
Down through the family tree
It's a midlife crisis...
What an inheritance
The salt and the kleenex
Morbid self attention
Bending my pinky back
A little discipline
A donor by habit
A little discipline
Rent an opinion
Sense of security
Holding blunt instrument
I'm a perfectionist
And perfect is a skinned knee
You're perfect, yes, it's true
But without me you're only you
Your menstruating heart
It ain't bleeding enough for two
It's a midlife crisis...
(well, not really!)
Oh, and it goes out to all the atheists, too -
especially those who take things too literally
(and they all do!)
But one cannot conclude on such a note
such a very important post as this!
For this one is the big one, folks
(well, so far, it is the biggest one!)
the 1050th published post here,
on TLB Prime,
the blog that started it all -
and the 45th epic year
for one of its three collaborators...!
One can only celebrate this
with the most appropriate song of all:
well, okay, as we are so Luminous around here
we give you three choices!
Enjoy!
we give you three choices!
Enjoy!
