For The Luminous Cat Person (And Dog Dude Too!)
Never mind if it is or if it is not - the fact of the matter is that we have finally noticed, after nearly seven years here, that the song with a most fitting title (HOLIDAY) for this blog has *never* been featured on TLB PRIME - aka The Luminous Blog! We cannot be sure about the rest of the TLB Prime Network (too much bandwidth to cover, you know...) but we can safely say that we have indeed skipped this one here, despite the fact that it is a natural for this site in many and mostly certain aspects...!
Let us remedy to this situation right here and right now, then: and with style, on top of that! For Mad-Onna has a rightful successor, a heir apparent that has fans going *gaga* over her - and there's this latest hit playing all the time these days, everywhere -the latest hit on an impressive string of consecutive hits for the budding "star"; although we may have mentioned before our reserve in mentioning "stars" and "superstars" for anything that is not indeed a celestial object- but that is digression right there...
Hence, that hit song -Alejandro- which could, conceivably, be about the name of some saint out there - was recently amalgamated with the previously mentioned Holiday by the Mad One; and the result amalgamation (aye, amalgamation, we said; not abomination!) is titled "Holiandro"...!
Enjoy the meeting of the minds - and of two eras - that follows:
That was something else, was it not!
:p
Many thanks, for the discovery of this remix, to the new addition to the blogroll bunch of brilliant blogs, linked here, somewhere, on the long -and luminous- sidebar. Upon finding it (or simply clicking here) you will discover the brilliant blogger in question, all the latest news on these so-called "stars" (that are not, for they are but mere flesh -flawed flesh; oh-so-very-flawed...!- and bone -bored bone; oh-so-very-boring...!) and much, much more! It is an exciting blog to visit often, for it is up-to-date and fresh; all that and funny as well! Thus, look up the kitty kitty person - soon!
(Just keep on scrolling down and looking on the right end of the screen, if you are using Internet Explorer -whatever version- or look on the left if you are using Mozilla Firefox! They're diametrically opposed, those two - you know...)
I would be remiss if I didn't add my own two cents of entertainment news - the sort of thing I usually reserve for a plethora of other blogs, part of the TLB Prime Network - but exceptions can always be made, quite obviously...!
Last week-end, there was this event called "Heavy Mtl" - with the clear implication that the two vowels missing there are "e" and "a"... It made us think, here, at the TLB Prime Network, if there could be one such thing as "luminous metal" too...? We pondered the question some more and came up with a list of... suggestions. Or subject-cases. Submitted for your approval...
Corny thing, if there ever was one - Korn, a band that was present and one of the headliners to boot, at this Heavy Mtl thing, was not to be found anywhere on playlist.com... Too bad. Another fascinating subject-case, P.O.D. I think they are called, was nowhere to be found either. There were only a single song-per-case to be added there, in any case...
"Heavy Mtl" wasn't a rowdy thing - by the way, surprisingly... Only one lone ambulance was required to be on the scene, rumor has it... Heavy Metallists can behave themselves - so there is hope for the zealots and radicals out there, yet! But that is another story...
I would be remiss, once more, if I ended on that note, without leaving you a chance to listen to the original "Alejandro" - other stuff to go "gaga" over - AND plenty others, from this latest crop of "new talent" that could never hope nor dream to ever replace the singing and artistic talent of yesteryear...
But they keep on trying - kudos for that, kiddos!

Meu Deus... Luce - Deuce!

Some of those I esteem as my truer, purest friends have taken to shorten my name, in a sign of spontaneous familiarity and affection. Now, I usually dislike abbreviations of any kind, but this one that I am talking about right here is the exception that reaffirms the rule. My name is Luciano - and I think it short enough to say it like it is always. Plus, I do believe that it rolls off the tongue rather well - no? Still, those truer and purest of my friends have often shortened it to... Luce.
It's all coming together for you now, is it not?
Imagine my surprise when I chance about a CD jacket - the above-pictured jacket, yes - that delineates what appears to be a man and his father watching over him... The name and the likeness are both close enough to my person - and so is the situation. The older man, the father figure on that picture, sports glasses and a beard; two things that differenciate him from my venerable father, and yet, since both are archetypical attributes of the wise man, it also makes the closeness that much stronger - wonderfully enough. This CD jacket was prepared in 2002 - the year I saw something was very wrong and tried to remedy to it... But father and I were to be set on that course headed for damages and separation anyway. Now, as he is in the Proverbial Better Place and I remain on the purgatory-earth, I think of him always in that exact idealistic way that is so perfectly illustrated on the Luce CD jacket: a wise guardian angel watching over his son... Maybe not when the son is looking in the mirror though, but generally-speaking, yes!
Click on the Luce picture in order to find yourselves on Luce's website and webSTORE - where you can purchase that CD (which I endorse, henceforth, and highly recommend) and other CD offerings from Luce - the band!
The videoclip, found on YouTube (of course), is an excerpt of that album; "Good Day" sung LIVE for the occasion.
And, yes, it was, all in all, a very good day indeed - the day in which I discovered Luce, my namesake band! And pretty much lookalike too (it's all in the eyes!)
Most of all and most importantly, of course, is the similitude I see in what the soul of our respective artform and style truly is all about.
Verily, it is something like this that makes us artists and troubadours of all trades realize that - we truly are all the same. With the same experiences, artistic vision, interests, values, fascinations, spirituality, obsessions even.
Spiritual resonance that echoes in the same key -
no matter what the artform may be.
Now that is something, indeed!

Luminous Cheers - And Jeers As Well
the famous American sitcom
based in a bar, in Boston
THROW IT AT THEM
It is true that
there was ONE recent
bear mauling
in another part
of the province -
but if you do as I say
it shouldn't happen again.
Everybody's territorial
so can bears be.
Mostly though,
bears are hungry
THROW THEM FOOD!
NOW!
One or two bears sighted
and it's like
THE RUSSIANS ARE COMING
or maybe
MARS ATTACKS,
"version nounours"
Well, it inspired me THIS:

In the immortal words
of one Sammy Davis Jr
"Let's move on...!"
CHEERS *and* JEERS to
General Motors!
On this day, they announced the closing
of no less than four factories
and that they would not be making
the most polluting cars
they are actually renowned for!
Alas, they quit making these cars
truly due to low or downright
INEXISTENT sales
and not due to any "change"
in company policy and attitude.
They simply cease production
of those models
that they will likely see
NO DEMAND for
anymore!
It is NOT an "ECO-MOVE"
more like a sound business move
mostly based upon the rising cost
of GAS - nothing more.
Nothing more admirable
than that...!
Plus, they care not
if so bold and abrupt a move
affects over 2000 employees...
If they had done it RIGHT
(done it THE LUMINOUS WAY)
they would have prepared for a bold move
of a very different kind this year
by preparing for it LAST year!
Changing the company's vocation
in building a new breed of cars
that consumes less gas
and more alternate energy sources.
They would have taken most of 2007
to prepare for that
instead of blinding themselves
to what THEY COULD see coming:
recession and high gas prices
that will continue to climb...
The employees would stick around
not lose their job
merely need to ADAPT
and get training
in order to build a very
DIFFERENT CAR
from now on -
no longer any of those
horrible HUMMERs
IF MY LUMINOUS SCENARIO
had been applied to a "T"...
I bet many G.M. employees
wish I had been their boss
instead of the bozo they have!
Okay - maybe bozo is too harsh
not to mention offensive
for the famous Bozo The Clown!
How about "the dinosaur"
who refused to change
with the times -
à la Dubya!
Yeah
it fits better!
FINALLY
I'd like to give CHEERS also
to the very L.O.V.s here ~
my Luminous Online Visitors
who have been patient
with my very infrequent
updates of the first site
in the TLB PRIME NETWORK!
Said L.O.V.s include
new fans from Twitter most notably
as well as the faithful readers
from the very beginning!
I hope you were all
informed
entertained
and
enlightened
by the preceding!
:)
I'll try to update the MAIN BLOG
more often from now on!
GOD WILLING
time & health willing too!
Blessings!

A Prayer And A Song
The 28th of the month
-any month at all-
is like the 22nd, for me...
The 28th of the
month of the dead
has to call here
for a special posting
and I choose to add
to TLB Prime's archives,
today,
a special song
and video
courtesy of the
luminous Lisa Gerrard

"ekpyrosis"
who has kept this gem up
for over a year now...
Almost as long
as my bereavement...
Along with this,
a special prayer
that a certain someone
near and dear
appreciated above all...
Eu rogo a Deus Todo Poderoso
e aos nossos irmãos familiares
e protétores
que o Nosso Bom Pai permita
pelo o Seu Santo e Divino Amor
que os nossos anjos da guarda
e os nossos boms irmãos
auxiliadores
dos nossos trabalhos
estejam na nossa companhia
a toda a hora da noite
como do dia
e que, de nòs afàste
e da nossa casa
os maus espiritos
e as màs influençias
encarnadas
e desencarnadas
que nos queiram
ò possam fazer màl.
Meu Bom Pai,
espero a vossa Santa
e Divina
Protecção
Assim seja.
Amém.

Luminous Friday Night Video Time ~ Once Again Way Too Soon, In My Book!
I would be remiss though if, once again, I did not present to you a few luminous sound alternatives as well...! ;)
Such as Lux Aeterna for instance! Aye - Lux Aeterna, one of the finest pieces of music anyone can possibly listen to, ever in one's life! This goes out, of course, to the 99 remaining members of the Lux Aeterna group that I continue to host (against my will and/or logic, it seems, but only because I shall not let darkness win out and engulf this great group -rife and laden with potential- into oblivion... No way! More on that below: just scroll all the way down to "deleted gems" to see!)
Alas, the video below is not the Lux Aeterna I would want here; the music is the same, but the visuals are not 2010-inspired or even LOTR-inspired but really... Sailor Moon in action?!? LIVE ACTION - at least! Lord Preserve Me From Manga - Aye, Aye; Amen!
...
That's like... Three videos already here... Sorry! I had promised to cut down on such glitzy gizmos, I know... But really, such is my guilty pleasure, here, on
The Luminous Blog
Hence, here is the video I thought could toughen it up
But NOW that this is ARCHIVED - tell me so on another blog entirely!!!
This one right here will do!
It would be one of my "blogger greatest fears" to have a video here that quickly gets royally on everybody's nerves - and then to be unable to update the blog, say, forevermore, for whatever reason there might come to be (hey, you never know; rrright?) so it always remains here for all time as the "sound of TLB Prime" - arrrrggghhh! Of course, with the poor reliability and performance of Videocodezone.com and the plethora of deleted videos on YouTube, such an "eternal working link" theory is the stuff of MYTH and LEGEND - and never to be eye-widening (but not necessarily opening) reality! Correct? ;)
YouTube.com is not that trustworthy indeed - for if it isn't them taking off the video, for violation of their site's rules or whatever other reason there can be, it is the user who uploaded it in the first place who can take it off in a flight of fancy himself, without any prior notice whatsoever!
I am going to start using another site's offerings soon in order to satisfy such cravings -
Meanwhile, focus on THE HARDEST PART of all this; if you make it through the first five days of Coldplay's annoying lead singer's vocals, the song will grow on you and the rest of this tenure will be smooth sailing indeed!

Luminous Friday Night Videos! Special Edition
And, verily, we all need to! From time to time...
Here are some tunes that might help achieving just that...
First off, let's learn -live some and learn some that is- with the Cardigans!
Next - sampling time: check what Jessica and The Click Five can do... at their very best (in their very best moments especially selected for good lasting impressions that is...)
After that, we have "une valeur sûre" - Céline Dion. In French too. That's "Tout L'Or Des Hommes" by the way - double-check when it's a foreign language, videocodezone - please!
Next we have Mad-Onna aka The Erstwhile Esther aka Veronica Electronica, performing her mega-hit "Hung Up" live from... Lisboa, Portugal! This would prove why I don't like live performances - the quality of the song suffers greatly. Why pay for mediocre renditions, even if performed in person, when ye can listen to the song at its optimal potential when it was recorded in studio? The thrill of being under the same roof as one of them *ephemeral stars* is simply not worth the tickets' cost... (Note that the Cardigans' video is a live performance - but the song one hears is the studio version found on the CD!)
Note also the MTV 2 logo - seems like they felt more "European-ish" by adopting Cerberus as their symbol... oh well, whatever works to "fit in" I guess...?
Some more party music follows with an oldie but a goodie - Earth, Wind & Fire's "Let's Groove Tonight" (seems like videocodezone is just typo-ridden and/or lazy)
An oddity follows - the unlikely duet of Michael Jackson and Britney Spears! (The video is chock-full of "positive" reactions from the crowd to Michael - and, yes, with the misspelling of even as simple a name as "Michael", we get confirmation that videocodezone is typo-ridden... and really lazy!)
And, to finish off with a bang of sorts, Ashlee... she who goes merrily "la-la-la-la" through the kitchen, out the door... or something like that! Her sister Jess is the would-be classy star - while Ashlee prides herself in being a suburban ______... fill the gap there by yourselves, l.o.v's!
Oh - if you are missing the previous tunes, from the previous playlist - click on the link to find them again there!
Blessings!

hurray for me

The light of a hundred stars cannot equal the light of the moon.
Hey - and since I reflect the Light - just as surely as the moon reflects the light from the sun - that would mean... that I am brighter than 100 ephemeral so-called stars... In other words, 100 blowhards who are full of themselves - today! YAY!

The Guest (s) That Wouldn't Leave...!!!

Whether they brought their vicious pets that immediately start threatening you in your own home... (perhaps imitating their masters or mistresses in that too...?!?)
or not...

Whether they are just plain obnoxious and a nonpareil nuisance, whichever way one looks at them...

Statistics show (!) -we are on a Sunday, are we not? TLB tradition here- that most hosts and hostesses with the mostest do not hesitate long nowadays before throwing out the culprits and other usual suspects...! Not today they don't - not anymore! Nope! Political correctness or not, no one will refrain long from letting you know exactly what they think of you or of your behaviour in this day and age... Not even the little pukes! One must watch one's step, yes. And have an ready-to-deliver excuse too... Such as, blame that "little pukes" tirade on a surfeit of eggnog! *LOL*
The point is...

Two more films to show the true horrors in America today;
no, folks, 'tis not terrorists or serial killers that we talk about- it is the American Witch!
NOT WICCANS, NITWITS - NOT NATURALISTS WHO HANG OUT IN BOTANIA...
Hexing, swearing, jinxing, vexing, bewitching b!tches...
And their male counterparts!
Beware of those who blend in, I say - this halloween and, mostly,
throughout the year!
Hmm... Maybe a third film would be best suggested here:
Rosemary's Baby!
And a fourth:
Listen to the Zombie now - he knows what he sings about!
(And, at least, he SINGS! Unlike others like him who merely
SHOUT their inaudible and atrocious so-called lyrics -
which is the reason why he's the glaring exception
that reaffirms the rule
and makes it onto TLB PRIME...!
Besides - he was spotted wearing

Statistics Sundays 6 - sixpence none the richer - lol
On to the FACTS... Jack!
Pride lionesses frequently enter the breeding season together andlater give birth at the same time; this allows them to share nursing and other maternal duties.
Although only one out of four hunting events is successful, dominant males always eat first, lionesses next, and cubs scramble for scraps and leftovers.
A tiger can consume as much as 40 kg (88 lb.) of meat in one feeding.
Tigers may drag their prey to water to eat. They are commonly seen in the shade or wading in pools cooling off.
Since white tigers have pigmented stripes and blue eyes, they are not albinos.
It is estimated that there are less than 3,000 Bengal tigers left in the wild.
The jaguar is the largest cat of the Americas, and the only living representative of the genus Panthera found in the New World.
More than 85 species have been recorded in the jaguars diet.
Jaguars are the only big cats that regularly kill prey (especially capybaras) by piercing the skull with their canines.
Deforestation rates are highest in Latin America (FAO 1993), and fragmentation of forest habitat isolates jaguar populations so that they are more vulnerable to the predations of man.
While the puma cannot roar, it is capable of a variety of vocalizations. Both sexes have a distinctive call, likened to a womans scream, which is probably associated with courtship.
Widespread and uncontrolled hunting, which has the potential to remove animals from viable habitat in which they would otherwise be present, is an active threat to big cat species.
The larger a cat, the larger its home range.
The cheetah appears to have suffered a series of severe population bottlenecks in its history, with the first and most significant occurring possibly during the late Pleistocene extinctions, around 10,000 years ago.
Cheetahs are considered by some to be a threat to peoples livelihood; governments struggle to prevent the destruction of cheetahs on private lands by owners who own livestock and fear cheetahs will prey on their herd.
According to K. Sevrin (pers. comm. in Eaton 1974: 24), a captive cheetah was accurately clocked at 112 kph over a short distance.
Three races of tiger - virgata Caspian, balica Bali and sondaica Javan tigers -- have become extinct since the 1950s.
Stripe patterns differ among individual tigers and from one side of the cats body to the other.
A tiger cub taken in Rewa, central India, in 1951, was the last record of a white tiger in the wild. Named Mohan, this tiger became the progenitor of most white tigers now in captivity when bred with a daughter, proving that the albinism is the result of a recessive gene.
Black tigers have been reported occasionally (Burton 1933, Perry 1964, Guggisberg 1975, Mazák 1981), but the only physical evidence rests with a skin recovered from illegal traders in Delhi in October 1992, which has deep black on the top of the head and back extending down the flanks to end in stripes (P. Jackson pers.comm.).
The name bobcat is an abbreviation of "bob-tailed cat", which refers to its short, dark ringed tail
Unlike many other cat species, tigers readily enter water.
